THE BINGO DIARIES CHAPTER 9 WHICH SENATOR WILL BE THE FIRST TO FLIP

10-7-2010

There may only be room for 1 , perhaps 2 Senators to testify against their co conspirators and receive a lesser sentence .

PREUITT seems to be in the best position here.

At this point I think the only deal a Senator will be offered is to provide information that brings down several corporations AND major players in the Legislature .

State Sen. Harri Anne H. Smith
Bad news for Harri Anne , she is one of only 2 ( Gilley being the other ) indicted that are named in " Notice of Forfeiture " on page 63 of the indictment .
Doubtful she can provide any real value as in regards to flipping on Gilley.
As a long time Republican she has a target on her back ,and may receive the longest sentence of anyone .

Reasonable conclusion : Smith is Neck Deep in this matter and has nothing to offer the FEDS and is # 3 on the FEDS wish list.
Prediction : Pleads NOT guilty at arraignment and files more motions than can be counted on two hands .

State Sen.Larry P. Means
Doubtful Means has cards to play here , and if he does do they trump what is already in play ?
Prediction : Pleads NOT guilty at arraignment and is caught in a squeeze because he can't provide anything on McGregor or Gilley that anyone else hasn't already provided and he doesn't have info the Lobbyists have .

State Sen. Quinton T. Ross Jr.
ROSS sponsored a bingo bill , so his only hope is that he was smart enough to tape some conversations with other people who wrote corrupt bills , and is willing to turn that over to the FEDS .
ROSS is local so maybe he was smart enough to do most of his attempted extortion and bribery schemes face to face and behind closed doors .
Doubtful that Ross could topple the " big Fish " in the Legislature and he will be the center of controversy because he is ( so far ) the only " man of color" indicted.
PREDICTION : Pleads NOT Guilty at arraignment and has as good , or better chance than anyone ( with the exception of McGregor ) of not receiving a single guilty verdict returned against him.

State Sen James E. Preuitt
Preuitt , withdrew his bid for re election .
Either he is already in play, or at age 75 is convinced he can't do prison time .

Reasonable conclusion : the FEDS have enough already to convict Preuitt on the one count of making a false statement ( heck even BLAGO couldnt skate on that one )

Prediction : Preuitt is truly the wild card here , he holds the honor of holding out for the 2 million dollar price tag and perhaps he has something REALLY BIG to offer .
He could go either way , but I think he will plead not guilty at arraignment , entering a guilty plea would likely mean he has flipped on someone REALLY BIG .
